Industrial Engineering Marketing Bazaar enjoins University Days
School of Engineering and Architecture
March 27, 2019
As part of the IE Week Celebration, the fourth year Industrial Engineering students of the School of Engineering and Architecture showcased their creativity by promoting and selling products both food and non-food, in this year’s IE Marketing Bazaar. This two-day event happened last January 30 and 31, 2019 which coincides with the celebration of the University days from January 30 to February 2.
Booths were installed and resourcefully decorated along the campus boulevard and eight groups participated in the event where their entrepreneurial and business planning skills were put to test. Various small-scale enterprises were created by the students that offer innovative products that catch the attention of the customers. These products include multiple flavor potato twisters, colorful isaw (chicken intestines), multi-colored kwek-kwek (deep fried quail eggs), triple cheese and shawarma fries to name a few as well as desserts like mango graham ice candy, flavored drinks and ice scramble. Some of the non-food products are string bags, socks, accessories for ladies, phone cases and cosmetics.
This activity allowed the students to appreciate and apply their learnings in their Marketing Management subject and assess the marketability of their chosen products and determine their viability. Moreover, the experience they had will help develop their entrepreneurial skills which they can use in their future business endeavors.
