Academic Honors
Outstanding academic achievement among the college students is recognized every semester with the publication of the honor roll and through awarding of Certificates of Academic Excellence during the Recognition Day To qualify for honors, a student must meet the following requirements:
Each College may have specific requirements in addition to the general policies stated herein. These additional requirements and policies are contained in the students’ respective College Catalogues. Independent learning is supported and encouraged. Students are held responsible for meeting the standards of performance established for each course. Their performance and compliance with other course requirements are the bases for passing or failing in each course, subject to the rules governing the following:
- A semestral weighted grade point average of:
- 1.0 - 1.25 President’s List
- 1.26 - 1.75 Dean’s List
- All academic units registered in the preceding semester are included in the computation of the weighted average.
- The minimum grade requirement in all subjects is 2.0 except for P.E. and NSTP.
- The semestral weighted average is not lower than 1.75
- The student must carry the number of units prescribed by the curriculum
- P.E. and NSTP should be passed in the first two years in college.
Withdrawal from the University
Student seeking honorable dismissal from the University must observe the following procedure:
- Secure and fill out an application form for honorable dismissal from the Registrar’s Office.
- Obtain clearance from all units indicated in the clearance form.
- Pay at the Finance Office all the charges for preparation and transmittal of transcript of records to the school or college where the student will enroll.
- Submit duly accomplished application/clearance form, required documentary stamps and official receipt at the Registrar’ Office.
- Claim Certificate of Transfer and other related documents.
Release of School Credentials
Request forms for release of school credentials are available at the Registrar’s Office.
The school credentials which may be requested are:
- Transcript of Records
- Form 137
- Certified true copy of grades
- Certification of graduation
- Certification of enrollment
- Certified true copy of the Special Order for Graduation (S.O.)
- Permit to cross-enroll
- Diploma
- Transfer Credentials
- The issuance of the transfer credential to a student is considered as a Formal Separation from the University and re-admission therefore, shall be in accordance with existing policies.
- Application for the release of the Official Transcript of Records for employment and other purposes must be filed at the Registrar’s Office. Regular Processing requires seven (7) working days, while the Express Lane processing requires two (2) working days.
- Transfer Credential/Official Transcript of Records will be released provided admission credentials such as Form 137 or Original Copy of the Transcript of Records are on file with Registrar’s Office. The corresponding fees and the required documentary stamps submitted. For purposes of transferring to another school, release of the aforecited documents will be from the originating school to the receiving school.
- No Diploma/Certificate will be released without the Special Order (S.O.) for Graduation
