Research Colloquium
The Research Colloquium is the University’s official forum to present researches completed by the faculty, administrators and personnel under the University Research Incentive Program. The exercise is a requirement specifically outlined in the memoranda of agreement between the University and the faculty and staff researchers.
In particular the colloquium aims to realize the following objectives:
  1. To provide researchers an opportunity to share with the academic community significant information and findings relative to their studies.

  2. To provide researchers a venue to solicit helpful comments from experts in their field or discipline, with the end in view of improving their research outputs.

  3. To allow researchers to gain “home court experience” in presenting their research outputs, preparatory to their joining external research conferences and competitive research events.

  4. To build the critiquing capability of the University’s faculty, administrators and personnel who were tapped as reactors.

  5. To encourage and/or inspire other faculty members, administrators, and non-teaching personnel to undertake their own researches.

  6. To contribute critiqued research outputs towards building up the University’s research reservoir.

  7. To build a pool of research outputs that is publishable in hard copy and/or electronic form.

6th University Research Colloquium

The 6th University Research Colloquium was successfully conducted on March 5, 2009 with the presentation of one (1) institutional research and seven (7) completed research outputs of the faculty who were granted research incentives for SY 2007-2008. As an innovation to the conduct of the Colloquium, experts from outside the University served as constructive critics to these presented researches towards assisting the researchers improve their work and, at the same time, provide these experts a glimpse of the research capabilities of the HAU research community.
The commissioned studies presented included: A Validation of Learner-Centered Principles, by Mr. Carlos Buan; The Role of Personality Tests in the Recruitment, Selection and Retention of Employees in Selected Companies in Angeles City and Clark Freeport Zone, by Marigrace Almario; Outside, Looking in; and Inside, Looking yet Deeper Within: How Koreans and Filipinos Learn in Multilingual English Classes, by Arlan Payad; Servant Leadership in Nursing Service Administration: The Case of Government Hospitals in Pampanga and Tarlac, by Al Biag; Estimation of Solar Potential of HAU Rooftops and Natural Air Drying with Solar Heat and Thermal Energy Storage in Rocks: Creating a Role for Renewable Energy in Poverty Alleviation to Poor Cultural Minorities in Pampanga, by Arturo Mariano Figueroa; and Cheap Production of Combustible Oxyhydrogen (HOH) from the Mixture of Water and Additives Using an Improvised Electrolyzer: A Confirmatory Study, by Renato David and Paterno Greg Padua.
