The College of Business and Accountancy (CBA) and the Graduate School of Business (GSB) will focus on practice-oriented research and teaching that will provide far-reaching impacts on business management education in the Philippines and the world.
The research agenda of CBA and GSB would serve as a guide for faculty members and students in their research undertakings. All faculty members undertaking research must work within these areas and must ask their students to engage in such.
The researches will focus on the following areas (which will be called Key Research Areas: KRA):
entrepreneurship
finance
globalization
leadership and management
marketing
operations
organizations
social enterprise and non-profit
strategy
These research areas will be worked on in relation to the university research agenda.
Faculty members who engage in research will be provided financial (when available), technical and academic support by the university through the Research Coordinator.
Student researches must guided by competent faculty members and tandem research will be highly encouraged.
Collaborative research (inter-college and inter-school) among faculty members would be pursued.
A series of seminars, research forums and colloquia must be held in order to present the students and faculty members’ research outputs during various stages of completion. This means that researches must not only be presented once. These seminars would be done in-house and researchers are also encouraged to present their papers in conferences and seminars in other areas of the Philippines and abroad. The Research Coordinator must coordinate the schedules of these events.
Outstanding research outputs will be published in the biannual college-based research journal which would now be known as the Holy Angel Business and Accountancy Review (HABAR). Other forms of print (e.g. discussion papers series, working paper) and online (through the HAU-CBA-GSB website) dissemination means would also be done. Researchers are also encouraged to have their papers published in local and international journals.
To ensure that the research agenda are met, all faculty members and students (through their research advisors) must submit the topics to the Research Coordinator for review.
