NSTP
National Service Training program (NSTP) is one of the programs of the University Community Extension Services. This is a constitutionally mandated course or program designed to equip College students with skills and experiences for their meaningful involvement in nation building. The training sessions are designed to prepare students for their immersion in communities in the second semester by providing them the basic concepts and theories needed for doing community work.
Components
The University offers three components:
Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS);
Literacy Training Service (LTS) and
Reserve Officers Training Corps(ROTC).
Services and Partner Communities
NSTP students served different barangays and schools in Angeles City. Following the process of needs assessment and consultation with barangay and school heads, students extend services such as tutorials assist in construction of visual aids/instructional aids, barangay profiling, mural painting, setting of reading area advocacy/seminar on health, child rights, waste management and other issues; environmental preservation activities , facility improvement, street education and related literacy and civic welfare services.
NSTP is also working with Government agencies and NGos to complement their services or who may request services of NSTP students. Some of these agencies include City Social Welfare Development Office (CSWD), DENR, DepEd Division Office.
