Calling All Tertiary Philippine History Professors of Pampanga

As the opening of the school classes for the new academic school year draws near, the Department of Social Science, College of Arts & Sciences and Education (CASEd) and the HAU Institute of Faculty Development (IFD) are calling teachers / instructors / professors of History in the tertiary level to take a fresh, albeit critical, look at the teaching of Philippine History on June 7, 2008, Saturday through a one-day seminar-workshop on the current trends and approaches in the teaching of Philippine History dubbed, “Kasaysayang Bayan: Ang Magturo ay Di Biro” Seminar-Workshap sa Kasalukuyang Kalakaran at Pagdulog sa Pagtuturo ng Kasaysayan ng Pilipinas sa Antas Tersiarya.

The resource speaker for this timely occasion is Professor Ferdinand Llanes, a prominent historian and currently the Chair of the Department of History, University of the Philippines in Diliman. Professor Llanes was once the National President of the Asosasyon ng mga Dalubhasa, May-Hilig at Interes sa Kasaysayan or ADHIKA.

The registration fee is PhP 500. Payments can be made during the registration on June 7, 2008. Seminar organizers request that name/s of participants be sent to the Office of the Chairperson of the Social Science Department before June 7, 2008 to help organizers in the preparation of the program.
