HAU to sponsor Good Governance Lecture

Holy Angel University will hold a lecture on good governance for all elected government officials and public administrators of Pampanga as part of its Diamond Jubilee celebration this year.

Entitled “The HAU Jubilee Forum on Good Governance in Government,” the event will feature as guest speaker the Hon. Bayani F. Fernando, the celebrated Chairman of the Metro-Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

It will be held on Thursday, July 17 at 9 a.m. at the University Theatre, San Francisco de Javier Bldg, Holy Angel University. There is no registration fee. The University is offering the forum as its contribution to ongoing efforts to upgrade the standards of governance in the province, from the provincial level to the municipal and barangay levels.

HAU President Dr. Arlyn S. Villanueva said the lecture-forum will showcase best practices in public administration to serve as benchmark for local leaders and administrators.

She said the event will also serve as the formal launching of the HAU Graduate School’s latest innovative offering, a seven-month Certificate Program in Public Administration and Governance, which is tailor-made for elected officials and public administrators.

Angeles City Vice Mayor Vicky Vega-Cabigting, who is an MA Public Administration major at Holy Angel University, will serve as emcee and forum moderator. The proponent of the project, Dr. Joan C. Reyes, Chairperson of the HAU Graduate School, said that the forum is expected to generate new insights that she could use to improve the masteral program’s curriculum.
