Admission Requirements

For Foreign Students
  • Proof of Adequate financial support to cover expenses for the student’s accommodation and subsistence, as well as school dues and other incidental expenses;
  • Scholastic records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or legal residence;
  • Police Clearance certificate issued by the National Police Authorities in the student’s country of origin or residence duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post having consular jurisdiction over the place for student who resided in the Philippines for less that 59 days; However, for student who resided in the Philippines for more than 59 days at the time he applies for the said change/conversion of his admissions status to that of a student, he shall also be required to submit the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance.
  • Quarantine Medical Clearance Certificate by the National Quarantine Office;
  • NBI Clearance
  • Copy of the student’s Personal History Statement signed by the student with a 2 x 2 inch photograph recently taken;
  • Photocopy of the photo, data and stamp of the latest arrival pages of the passport of the student. The passport itself shall be presented to this Office for verification.
  • Three (3) 1.5 x 1.5 Full Face Colored Photographs
  • Processing Fee
For Change/Conversion of Admission Status of an Alien to that of a Student
  • Student secures application forms from the Registrar’s Office.
  • Student submits two (2) original copies of Transcript of Records, Personal History Statement, birth certificate, filled-out application forms and two (2) copies of affidavit of support to cover education and incidental expenses.
  • HAU issues Notice of Acceptance (NOA) after evaluation of the transcript of records and other requirements.
  • Student or HAU submits the following requirements to the Bureau of Immigration.
    1. Original copy of the NOA
    2. Proof of adequate financial support to cover expenses for the student’s accommodation and subsistence, as well as school dues and other expenses.
    3. Scholastic records duly authenticated by the Philippine Foreign Service Post located in the student’s country of origin or legal residence.
    4. Police Clearance. For student residing in the Philippines less than one (1) month – clearance from the student’s country of origin. For student residing in the Philippines for more than one month, a Philippine Police clearance is required.
    5. Copy of the student’s Personal History Statement (signed).
    6. Passport
  • Bureau of Immigration issues an order converting admission status of an alien to that of a student, implements the same in his/her passport and issues him/her an ACR and CRTS after payment of necessary fees.
  • Student is granted an initial one (1) year authorized stay as a student.
  • For request of extension of stay as student.
  • The student submits the following documentary requirements to the Admissions Office of Holy Angel University;
    1. Duly accomplished application form
    2. Two (2) 1.5 x 1.5 full-face photographs
    3. Photocopy of Passport
    4. Transcript of Records
    5. Grades of the previous semester
    6. Photocopy of ACR, CRTS
    7. Explanation in case of failures, dropped or withdrawals of two or more subjects equivalent to six or more units with Registrar’s confirmation.
  • Student/HAU submits these documents to the Bureau of Immigration for approval.
Exemptions

The following students are exempted from securing Student Visa or Special Study Permit:

1. The principals, spouses and unmarried dependent children below 21 years old of the following:

  • Immigrants (permanent foreign residents)
  • Aliens who have a valid admission status under either Sections 9(d) or 9(g) or 47(a)(2) of the Philippine Immigration of 1040, as amended (aliens with valid working permits)
  • Personnel of foreign diplomatic and consular missions
  • Personnel of the duly acdredited international organizations residing in the Philippines
  • Aliens who have a valid Special Investor Resident Visa (SIRV)
  • Aliens who have a valid Special Resident Visa
2. Students should present passport and other documents to prove exemption.

Notes:
  • Children who are already enrolled before their marriage and/or before reaching the age of 21 shall be allowed to finish their studies without the need to secure student visa or special study permit as long as their principals remain in the country.
  • 2. In the event the principal loses his status under the admission categories listed above, he/she shall apply for the conversion of his/her admission status to that of a student.
Others:

Former Filipinos who acquire foreign citizenship are required to get a Special Study Permit from BID or can apply for an immigrant visa.
