Good evening!

On behalf of the HAU academic community and the official University student publication, The Angelite, I would like to welcome all of you to the fourth Angelite of the Year Awards Night.

Angelite of the Year was started in 2007, in consonance with the celebration of the Angelite as one of the oldest publications in the country. This year the publication celebrates its 72 years of press freedom.

It has been an annual project of the publication to recognize outstanding Angelites in terms of service, community involvement, and leadership. The award is given in three (3) categories, namely Student, Faculty and Employees, and Student Organization. This school year, the Angelite is recognizing for the first time, the Outstanding Kapampangans.

So, tonight we here to honor the students who have done extraordinary work as well as a lot of just plain hard works and the faculty or employees for their capable and extreme dedication to serve and their commitment to their craft. I consider it such a pleasure and honor to be with you here to participate in the recognition of these dedicated and deserving awardees.

My commendation goes to Mr. Harold Gomez, Managing Editor, Juan Paolo Malenab, Literary Editor, Keizelle Reyes, Features Editor and the rest of the Editorial Staff who worked so hard for making this event possible. May this project continue to be carried out in order to keep our students, faculty, employees, and outstanding Kapampangans to give the best that an Angelite can be.
