STUDENT ACTIVITY PROGRAM

In support of the University’s mission of producing well-rounded graduates who are academically and psychologically prepared for tertiary education, and adequately equipped with life and self-learning skills, the High School department designed an extensive program of activities to supplement classroom instruction.

Co-Curricular Activities are those that directly enrich / supplement the high school curriculum. These are the following:

  • Subject-based Activities which designed in consonance with the academic subjects.
  • Religious Activities
  • Educational Tours / Field Trips
  • Seminars / Leadership Trainings
  • Service Learning Activities
  • On and Off - Campus Academic Competition

Extra-Curricular Activities are those that have no direct curricular link but are supportive of the academic program of the High School Department and are essential to the student’s development into a whole person.

Activities under this category are:

  • Camping
  • Literary, cultural, musical activities / competitions on or off campus
  • Civic Activities (parade, rallies, and other government-sponsored activities)
  • Seminars / Leadership Trainings
  • Educational Trip (club-sponsored)

Student Organizations

Policy: The University recognizes the importance of developing creative and responsible student leaders who will eventually assume the mantle of leadership in their chosen field of endeavor.  For this purpose, it seeks to encourage the formation of student groups which will pursue clearly established common objectives and the initiation of directed endeavors set up along social, recreational, cultural, religious, literary, and educational lines.

Authority to operate: The Principal grants recognition / accreditation to the organizations after the Activity Coordinators and the Administrative Affairs Officer have evaluated the following requirements:

  • Constitution and by-laws
  • List of members by year level and section
  • List of officers
  • Appointment form signed by the club adviser / moderator
  • Activity Design

Supervision: It shall be the responsibility of the club adviser / moderator and the activity coordinators to supervise and regulate the operations as well as the activities of all duly recognized student organizations. This is to provide needed guidance for maximum utilization of the students' potentials/resources and efforts towards the attainment of goals and objectives as envisioned in their approved constitutions and by-laws.

Duly Recognized Organizations:

Student Government

  • High School Student Supreme Council (HSSSC) - The HSSSC is the highest governing student body of the High School Department composed of officers duly elected by the high school studentry in a general election.
  • Year Level Council (YLC) - YLC is the second highest governing student body composed of the year level representatives.
  • Class Officers (CO) - CO is the governing body of a particular class / section.
Functions of the HSSSC Officers

President
  • supervises HSSSC activities
  • presides over HSSSC meetings
  • submits a summary of the HSSSC activities during his/her incumbency
  • serves as representative in matters involving students
  • coordinates with the Activity Coordinators concerning the HSSSC activities
Vice President
  • take charge of HSSSC internal and external affairs
  • coordinates with the HSSSC president in the supervision of activities
  • takes the place of the HSSSC president in case of the latter's absence

Secretary
  • takes minutes of the HSSSC meetings
  • writes the necessary announcements on bulletin boards
  • submits a monthly report of the activities of the HSSSC

Treasurer
  • collects all contributions/donations for the student body
  • presents a monthly financial statement
  • handles the finances of the HSSSC

Functions of the Year Level Council Officers

  • meet the officers belonging to their year level
  • perform such other duties that the HSSSC president may delegate to them
Functions of the Class Officers

President
  • presides over class meetings
  • takes charge of the class discipline if the teacher is out/absent
  • helps the adviser in maintaining discipline during the flag ceremonies and co-curricular activities
  • motivates the class to participate in class and school activities
  • informs the class of the schedule of activities
Vice President
  • takes the place of the class president in case of the latter's absence
  • checks and reports to the HSCO all those not wearing the prescribed uniform
  • sees to it that no member of the class remains inside the classroom during Holy Mass and school program
  • sees to it that all members of the class form their line before entering the classroom and in going to the venues designated for school activities
Secretary
  • checks the attendance of the class every period
  • writes important announcements on the board
Treasurer
  • collects/solicits contribution from the members of the class as authorized by the APSS
  • presents to the class adviser an accounting of the financial condition of the class
PRO
  • collects reply slips
  • reminds the class of the schedule of activities
  • takes charge of maintaining the cleanliness of the classroom (blackboard, eraser, etc.)
MUSE and ESCORT
  • serve as models for good grooming, behavior and decency
  • reminds the class of the schedule of activities

Student Clubs

Academic Group

  • Young Readers Association (YRA) - develops the members' love for reading and appreciation for books
  • Youth for Environment in Schools Organization (YESO) - develops the members’ love, concern and care for the environment
  • Future Homemakers - develops the adolescent' ability to accomplish daily task at home ffectively by developing in them the needed home making skills.
  • Science Club - seeks to promote interest and appreciation in the different sciences and develops in them the scientific way of solving problems in life..
  • Math Enthusiasts' Society - develops members' mathematical skills, logical thinking and reasoning ability.
  • Com Arts Association - develops students' proficiency in speaking English and potentials in acting
  • Techno Questors - seeks to provide additional opportunities for computer related activities. It supplements the regular computer education program
  • Alliance of Modern Historians (AMH) - enhances the students interests in the Filipino Heritage and Culture of other countries.

Hobbies and Talents

  • Likhang Sining - develops artistic talents of students by engaging in creative arts and crafts
  • Collectors' Club - develops in students the habit of collecting things worth preserving
  • Artists' Circle - develops and explores the creativity of students through exposures to different activities like painting, drawing and participation in the different art contests.
  • Music Club - Club develops among members their love and appreciation for music and musical abilities.
  • Smile Connection Club - provides members peer support to help each other survive high school life.
  • Terpsichorean Angelian Performer (TAP) - develops students creative talents through dancing

Sports Group develops sportmanship and athletic skills of students. It also serves to channel students' energies in a positive direction.

    • Kabataan Para Sa Nagkakaisang Laban sa Inpinagbabawal na Gamot (KAPANALIG) - develops awareness on the nature and effects of drugs
    • The Peace Keepers helps in the maintenance of peace and order in the campus

Club Officers
As soon as a club / organization is organized, club officers are elected by its members.

Duties and Functions
The club officers assist the club adviser / moderator in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating club activities.
