HAU-CON’s Academic Squads Tops First Regional Clash of Nurses
College of Nursing’s newly formed academic team bagged “The First Clash of Nurses” top place last November 16, 2007 at the University of the Assumption (UA) in City of San Fernando, Pampanga.
Nursing Schools from Pampanga, Nueva Ecija, and Bulacan participated the UA-Sponsored event. National Quiz Bee champ Jonathan Cura led the five-man team of the CON with their coach, Mr. Michael Louie Celis.
According to the UA CON dean Rhouency Sicat, the organizers planned the activity to emphasized camaraderie among nursing schools in the region. “This will also strengthen the ties of nursing students from different schools who would usually meet in the same affiliated usually meet in the same affiliated hospital,“ she added.
Questions were lifted from several subject areas in basic sciences and nursing. Nueva Ecija’s Wesleyan University of the Philippines placed first while another nursing school from Angeles City, the Republic Central Colleges, placed second.
The other members of the academic team are Angelo Angeles, Charisse de Leon, Adonis Dungca, Raymond Paul Mercado, and Aldrin Talento. The champions, together with the other academic team members, will also compete in a national competition in University of the Philippines- Diliman on January 2008.
