September 3-4, 2009, The Philippine Society of Information Technology Educators (PSITE) organized the annual assembly of all IT students, professors and professionals entitled “Student Assembly on Information Technology Education” (SAITE 2009) held at the SM Event Center, SM City-Baliwag, Baliwag Bulacan. The event focused mainly on the theme: “Synergy for Academic Innovation on Information Technology Education”. The event is a two-day activity composed of Academic and Non-academic competitions.

Selected students from the College of Information and Technology were sent to represent the college and compete with other IT colleges in Region 3. For the Day one, the team was composed of Mar Sumang, Mark Joseph Dizon and Julius Tanedo for the Animated Movie Making Contest. While Leslie Dizon and Angelica Austria for the SAITE Quiz bee Junior Level successfully made it up to the top five. Justine Reyes, Alexi Layson and Rizelle Cuenco for the Desktop Publishing, bagged the 2nd prize with Mrs. Llonora Javier as their coach. For the Day two the team was composed of Ronielle Antonio and Reggie Pelayo for SAITE Quiz bee Senior Level and Alden Zamora for the Indoor Games (chess) who bagged the 3rd and 2nd place respectively, with their coach Ms. Avigail Magbag.

Plenary Session about Animation, Careers in IT, Geographical Information System, Robotics, IT Ethics, Computer Hardware Case Modification, Server Security and Protection Security and Platform Virtualization were also conducted during the two-day event in order to give the participants an update in the different areas of Information and Technology.
