HAU – CICT Awarded as Model Local Academy by the Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP)
March 26, 2009, The Cisco Networking Academy Program (CNAP) held the annual Cisco National Championship Skills Competition in Holy Angel University. The event was organized by the Cisco Core Council of the Philippines in coordination with HAU’s College of Information and Communications Technology.
The competition was divided into two categories: the Basic and the Advanced. Each category was participated in by 10 schools from around the Philippines. Both categories were represented by junior and senior IT students. The team for the Basic Category was composed of Rolando Antonio Jr., Arvin Bondoc, Jasme Silvestre and Ana Reymabel Cacay, with their coach Ms. Rasel H. Dela Cruz. For the Advanced category representatives were Joseph Lorenz Ramos, Mervin Sula and Charles Leonar Pineda together with their coach, Mr. Wilson D. Concepcion.
The awarding ceremonies followed in the evening at the Century Hotel in Clarkfield, Pampanga. The HAU-CICT team for the Basic Category bagged the 2nd place and received P10,000.
Rolando Antonio Jr. from the Basic Category was also awarded for garnering the highest score in the written examination. Also, Joseph Lorenz Ramos from the Advanced Category was awarded the Model Student, through a nomination process. Miss Rasel H. Dela Cruz was likewise awarded as the Model Instructor. And to top the evening, Holy Angel University – College of Information and Communications Technology was awarded as the Model Local Academy for 2009.
